Fingers crossed update!

After waiting what seemed like forever, it is final. Rick, Hannah and Keith all have parts in "Jekyl and Hyde"! Rick and Keith have speaking and solos. Hannah made the chorus. If it is anything like "My Fair Lady", she will have multiple costume changes. She loved every bit of "My Fair Lady". I am so excited for them all. When costuming starts, I am sure they will volunteer me to help; if not, I will do it myself.

Fingers Crossed!

I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Rick and Hannah and Keith are at tryouts for one of our local theatre productions. Magic Valley Little Theatre is doing "Jekyl and Hyde". It will be on stage the week of Halloween, with the final run on Halloween!

I am so nervous for them and so stoked to see my peeps acting again! If my peeps get parts, I will volunteer to help with costumes again.

I am not a theatre person, but my peeps reeled me in. I DO NOT have an acting bone in my body; but I have found that I love the costume aspect after Rick, Hannah and Keith did "My Fair Lady" with the Magic Valley Dillatantes (sure there is a spelling error here!)

Hopefully there will be a heads-up in the next day or two!

Time has been flying!

It is hard to believe that it has been 3 weeks since the last time I posted. I am not sure where the time has gone.

Here are some of the highlights. Rick and I drove down to Jarbidge, Nevada for its 100 year anniversary. Rick has a friend whose parents live there. Maryanne was here from Kentucky. Rick hadn't seen her since graduation. We had so much fun. Maryanne is a hoot and I enjoyed meeting her. Not only was she there, several other of his friends were there. We sat and visited for hours. The following pictures are from our trip. The first one is of Elk Mountain. There is still snow at the very top.

This photo is Murphy Hot Springs. It is a small settlement based around a natural hotspring. The hot spring is no longer operating. Pretty sad.

We were treated to a parade! It had 2 horse drawn wagons and about 7 model-T cars. It went through town three times.

Hannah and Hayley drove to Pocatello to watch the boys perform an acoustic set at a venue there. Here are Hannah and Keith hamming it up during someone else's performance.

The next photos are Hannah's camp photos. Most of the ones she took are of the senior graduation banquet/dance. These are her best guy friends. Kevin on the left, Rayne in the middle and Chase on the right. Here are the girls. Hannah, Krystl, Sydney and Arden.

Here is Arden and Hannah. Arden and Hannah started camp together when they were 5! I have watched the two of them grow up together through camp photos each year.

This is what the campers call a "cuddle puddle". On the last day, the kids crash together while waiting for transportation home. On Sunday, August 3, Rick took me for a bike ride. We went up to Albion, Idaho and then back through Burley. This is a barn near Malta, Idaho.

This is the top of the hill out of Albion. I thought the scenery was gorgeous.

Hopefully, I will be posting more. I am off this week before school starts. I am going to try to finish my quilt I am making for my bed. I also have a dresser to refinish to match the desk/vanity I finished earlier. So I hope to post about those things soon.

An Awesome Day!

My post today has no photos. Oh well.

Today, my mom and I took Hannah up to Church camp. She has been going to the same camp since she was five. When she was five, camp was a 2 day, one night affair. As she has grown older, it has increased in time until she has reached CYF camp. This is for grades 10 through graduation. She has only missed one year in 12 years, for a softball tournament in Jr. High School. She regrets it to this day.

We actually didn't get to drive her up to Boise to catch her ride with the Red Rock Christian Church of Boise group. One of her friends needed company to ride up to Boise to check on his sister who had been brutally attacked by a renter in her home. They left at 10:30 last night. Thankfully Ron's sister is physically okay. I am sure it will take a long time for the emotional scars to fully heal. I drove Hannah's car up to Boise, following my mom. Hannah needs her car because she always stays one extra day so she can go to Camp Sunday with her friends from the Red Rock Church and give her testimony on what she learned from this camp year. Someone's parents always have a BBQ after church for a little bit more together time for the kids. This year, she will have company on the way home. One of her friends from Pocatello is staying for camp Sunday as well. His mom will meet him in Twin Falls sometime Sunday afternoon. She is pretty excited to have someone to ride with her.

This year a lot of Hannah's friends are graduates and leaving her behind. There are over ten grads this year. Next year, when it is Hannah's turn, there are only 3 grads. She is very sad about this already, she has actually been sad about it for weeks. She is really going to miss her friends.

We met up with Hannah at my son Brady's house. It was a treat because both he and his wife Kylie had the morning off. My mom took us all to lunch at Red Robin. It was yummy. Hannah and Brady both entertained us with stories of camps past. One, I guess I wasn't aware of, involved Brady, his best friend Tom and Tom's younger brother Kevin and a bear cub and a growling mama bear that they could hear, but couldn't see. First time I had heard it. Kylie and Hannah tried to keep Brady on track while he was telling the story. Seems he tends to embellish his stories for entertainment purposes. Too funny, though, anyway you look at it. There was also some discussion between Hannah and Kylie about the benefits of camping. Camping is something Kylie definately doesn't like.

We then took Hannah to the church to catch her ride. She was like a little kid waiting for Christmas. We were early, then she couldn't remember if the time she had told my mom and I was the right time. She tried texting and calling her friends and no one replied. Finally, kids started to show up and she was out of the car, hugging and catching up with not only her friends but their parents too. It was lovely to see. I am so excited for her! She has waited 365 days for this day to come. I just know that she will have so much fun.

After we left Hannah, my mom took me to the Quilt Crossing in Boise. I got two charm packs of Neptune by Tula Pink. Then we headed to Hancock Fabrics. My mom bought me a Dresden Plate ruler. I am going to make my Neptune charm packs into 4 1/2 inch Dresden Plates for a quilt top. If you haven't seen Neptune, you don't know what you are missing. The theme is the sea. The colors in this line are over the top-so rich and beautiful.

When we got home, Rick met us at my parents' house and my dad surprised us and took us out to dinner. It was such a relaxed day. I didn't even think about work at all today. The great thing is that I don't even feel guilty about it.

Brady's Shoes

I would like to share someone I am very proud of. He is my son, Brady. Brady has found an artistic outlet that I would like to share. He has taken up designing shoes. This first photo is of his first ever pair. They are Star Wars characters.

The next pair is what he calls his "new and improved version" of his original pair.

This next pair are the ones he made for his wife, Kylie. They are Super Mario characters. This is the view from the back.

These show his political views. He went to the rally at Boise State when Obama was campaigning for president.

Here are his Wolverine ones. Wolverine is his favorite X-men character.

The next ones are ones he made for one of his good friends. My daughter, Hannah, says they are based on a video game. I will take her word for it, as I am not knowledgeable when it comes to video games.

Filer Fear Softball

Hannah has been playing 16U softball this summer. This weekend was her last tournament as she is going to be at church camp when the girls do their last tournament in Pocatello. She is pretty bummed about it. She will most likely play school softball next spring, but won't be playing ASA again as she will be too old. Here are some of the highlights of her summer season.
